August 3 (Heber Springs, AR)- The sun was out and the water conditions were perfect at Heber Wake Fest in Heber Springs Arkansas last weekend. Pro and amateur riders gathered together at Sandy Beach to compete in stop 5 on the Arkansas INT tour. The City of Heber Springs sponsored a $15,000 purse for the pro division, and Master Craft of Arkansas sponsored a $1000 purse for the Outlaw division and a Double Up Contest. The money and the promise of a good time drew some of the top professional wakeboarders in the courtry. Amateur and pro riders had two rounds to post their best score, with a Double Up contest and Rail Jam on Saturday evening. Shaun Murry took first in the Double Up Contest. The top 10 pros went on to an intense third round on Sunday afternoon. Pro’s were judged using the INT Nationally Consistent Scoring system, based on trick points, composition, amplitude and technicality. Phillip Soven took home the $6,000 first place check. Austin Hair came in second with an epic run, and INT favorite Zane Schwenk took third place winning the crowd’s favor with a huge Slurpy.
Special thanks to the city of Heber Springs, Mayor Jackie McPherson, Aaron Raye , Brett and Missy Bristow, the Arkansas INT tour team, and all of our INT and Wake Fest Sponsors for helping INT host a fantastic event.
