Imagine having three sick kids, astronomical medical bills, shaky employment circumstances and scary moments of uncertainty about how to house your family. Chris and Vickie Cox have been dealing with all of this. Their kids, Jake, Sam and Grace, all have a genetic condition called Shwachman-Diamond Syndrome. It is a rare and dangerous disease with limited treatment options. Doctors who specialize in the condition are hard to find and many of the treatments are considered experimental. Their medical bills have been more than most of us can imagine making. For the fourth year, the Winnebago Water Wizards of Lake Winnebago, Missouri are trying to help. What can you do?
If you are a skier, wakeboarder, air chair rider or are addicted to any other towed water sport, you can come ski with us. Be at the Arrowhead Yacht Club point at Lake Winnebago at noon on New Year’s Day 2010. If you can’t make it on New Year’s Day, you can still help. Make out a check payable to “Freezin For A Reason.” Learn More…
