Special Thanks to Everyone who Attended the Eastern Region Invitational!
Both sites were beautiful venues regardless of the chilly water and brisk air. Both Devil’s fork and Singing Pines were a sight to behold as skiers and boarders brought their best to the Eastern Region Invitational. Georgia, Tennessee, NC, Team new england (Joe NOseworthy who claimed 1st place in slalom 2nd class) and sc all gathered as one family to cheer one another on.
Congratulations to South Carolina for winning Eastern Region Invitational overall State Team Challenge Award! Go Team South Carolina!!
On the slalom lake Skip Watson bumped from Wide Ride Fun and went on to win Wide Ride Super; on the wakeboard lake Jon Hunt bumped himself to Outlaw; Max Privette bumped himself to Jr Novice and Brendan Dougherty bumped himself to Jr Intermediate and took first place. Congratulations to all!
Congratulations to Will Speed, our Extremities rider who became engaged on Friday evening. What an inspiration he was to us as he rode behind the boat. Will became paralyzed after a motorcycle accident a few years back and loves the sport of wakeboarding so much that he developed a means of sitting on his wakeboard and riding. He participated in NC in a division named Extremities created just for him! Great job Will you are our hero!
Nick Estes, Outlaw rider that had the “Biggest Crash” of the weekend was taken to the hospital Saturday morning after crashing while attempting a Whirlybird. He was diagnosed with a concussion and was kept overnight, although with a headache was able to attend school on Monday. He plans to take some time off but believes he has figured out what he did wrong, last I heard he can’t wait to get back on the water to perfect that trick! He also wants to thank everyone for their prayers, calls and facebook chatter of support that he received. If you remember Nick gave our invocation on Friday morning during the opening ceremony.
Many thanks to the following:
