Georgia INT League 2013 Summer Tour
Closing Out Another Fabulous Season
It’s very difficult to say goodbye to our 2013 INT Season! We have had such a great time this year and enjoyed seeing old friends and making new ones that it makes it hard to say goodbye.
The State Championships wrapped up the season on August 10th at Lake Acworth – probably the best venue we have, as there is no other boat traffic on the lake, and there is a great beach for viewing. We had 16 waterskiers and 50 wakeboarders and wakeskaters riding on Saturday, and we got everyone on and off the water before the rain hit (really, rain, this summer, what an anomaly!). But just talking about how many riders we had, and the ever present threat of rain, doesn’t do justice to the day. We had a blast!
From our newest riders who joined us this season, to veterans who have been there since the beginning, everyone enjoyed it, cheered a lot and relaxed some – all while enjoying the show on the lake.
There is always a long list of people to whom a debt of gratitude is owed – and in this case, the list is REALLY long: Starting with our volunteers! Tommy, Sharaine and Celina Vicente; Lisa, Don and Jenna Malcolm; Gaby and Trina Cumm; Miranda Serwitz; Slade, Sydney and Terry Erickson; TIm, CIndy and Dylan Wittman; Noah Jarrett; Rita Doughtery; Madison Prince; Jarrett Sippola; Zeplin Mackey; Bob, Cheryl and Bobby Kerr; Tonya and Dalton Purcell; Mike Allshouse, and various other riders who stepped up to help with aspects of every event. And while it may seem prejudicial, I want to thank our sons, Collin and Spencer too! They work hard before, during and after every event. Please know that we appreciate you more than you know and we realize how important our volunteers are to the operation of INT events. We love you all!
Of course no list is complete without our sponsors:
Brandon Lee and Brett Lee of Georgia Wakeboard Lessons, LLC. You have been with us since our very first event and we want you to know how much we value your help, input and expertise. Thank you for your constant support and advice!
Pull Watersports. The Serwitz Family has a passion for watersports and they bring that to every event. Aside from your unwavering support of INT and its riders, you have helped in so many ways (thanks for adding boat driving to your jobs this summer, Perry!), that we can’t begin to cover it all. Thank you for all you do and all your love and support!
Watersports Central: Also with us since the very beginning – providing a Mastercraft at every INT event since we started. Thank you to Johnny Crowe and his team for their commitment to building the sport and to INT. We would not be where we are without your help.
Marine Max of Georgia: Adding depth to our boat coverage by coming on board a couple years ago with Nautiques, Konrad Olson and the gang at Marine Max are always willing to help out. Thank you for your passion for wakeboarding and waterskiing and for your support of INT.
SMG Wake/Singleton Marine Group: Joining INT this year for the first time, Vinny Knapp and his team at SMG Wake made a big impact in just one summer. Adding a Malibu to our boat dock, and a willingness to do whatever we needed, we appreciate your support.
Kim Chapman Allstate Agency: When we added Kim to our team of sponsors this year, we thought it would just be nice to have an insurance guy around who is happy to insure boats and boaters! What we didn’t realize was Kim’s level of commitment and participation was way off the charts. Not only did he come to every event, but he purchased a Supra and let INT use it at every event this year. Thank you, Kim! You are wonderful!
The US Championships are October 10-13 at Ski West Village in Bakersfield, CA. You are qualified to participate in the Championship tournament if you participate in at least 50% of the stops in Georgia this year and finish First, Second or Third in your division, or if you were a regional winner in either 2012 or 2011. Registration is limited to 400 riders and is a one a first come-first served basis. For more information, please visit the INT website: http://www.intleague.com/us-championships.
Lake Lanier Kickoff Classic kicks off a great INT season!
The weather and the water were both cool, but the competititon was heated on the water as everyone kicked off the 2013 Georgia INT League season on Lake Lanier at Lake Lanier Islands Resort. Over 40 riders of all ages braved the chilly water and showed everyone how it’s done after a long winter. We’d like to thank all of our sponsors, our riders and Lake Lanier Islands for making our first event of 2013 a huge success. Also, Melanie Zeman of MZeman Photography was on the boat for many of the competitiors you can view and purchase her pictures online at mzemanphotography.com
