The INT League is seeking a location for their most prestigious event, the INT US Championships. This is event is known for its high energy level, excellent competition, and professional quality. The US Championships is the largest event INT currently hosts with about 450 athletes and 1200 attendees. It is a three to four day event, traditionally held in October.
Waterskiers, wakeboarders, wake skaters, and kneebaords will come from all over the US to compete to the US Champion title. This event features sponsor booths, venders, spirit contests, evening activities, and an awards banquet and dinner. The top three athletes in each division at the end of the 2012 INT tour from each state will be invited to compete.
The location must meet some specific requirements, which include having at least two lakes side by side, a nearby host hotel(s) with reasonable rates, and be within an hour or so drive of an international airport. Other important components are good weather in October and other fun activities to do near the lake.
The lake owners will be responsible for assisting with some facilities management. INT staff will organize and execute the event. The INT League is looking to make a decision on the location by February 1, 2012. In the past, the US Championships have been held at Sunset Lakes, Bennett’s Ski School, Ski West Village, Trophy Lakes, and Tarra Mare. Interested lakes owners can inquire to Jac@intleague.com.
